User Experience Designer

22seven is looking for UX designers (junior, mid-level or senior) to join our tribe and help our customers achieve better financial freedom.

UX skills needed for the role :

  • Take charge of various UX projects

  • Has training and knowledge of UX methodologies

  • Has had some experience in a UX / Digital environment

  • Define the requirements provided by Business, Product & Head of UX & Design

  • Conduct various user research and analysis

  • Provide a visual solution like wireframes or interactive prototypes

  • Conduct and participate in various validation methods such as usability testing, guerilla testing and remote testing

  • Has knowledge on various digital trends

  • Has knowledge on mobile & web standards

Bonus point skill :

  • Has experience designing UI

  • Has facilitated various workshops

  • Has knowledge on using various analytical tools like Google Analytics, Amplitude and Tableau

Scrum Master

As part of the product team at 22seven you’ll be essential to facilitating and improving our product development process and teams. You’ll be key to continuous development and improvement of how we build software and making sure we are building software in the most effective, efficient and sustainable method possible.

About you

  • You have domain area expertise in Agile and Scrum practices and their implementation.

  • You have experience in software product development and are passionate about its potential.

  • You are a firm believer in self-organisation and want to help others organise themselves.

  • You are a servant leader and enjoy arranging and running ceremonies or meetings.

  • You are able to facilitate work getting done without coercion or dictating terms.

  • You are able to facilitate discussion, critical thinking, decision making and conflict resolution.

  • You are keen on working collaboratively with a cross-functional team, using Agile methodologies.

Here are some of the things you’ll look after

  • Assessing the product development process maturity and coaching the team to make improvements at a pace that is comfortable for business and the team.

  • Identifying, diagnosing and removing impediments to productivity by leveraging the collective intelligence and capabilities of the team or by sourcing new capabilities.

  • Monitoring story build durations, flagging emerging problems early and putting in place speedy and long term measures for resolution.

  • Serving as a subject matter expert on the implementation of the Agile and Lean Start-up approaches and SCRUM methodology in our environment.

Team environment

  • Building a safe environment of trust where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.

  • Coaching team members on their role within the organisation and the product development process to drive continuous intrinsic motivation and self-improvement.

  • Providing temporary support to teams in whatever capacity required to fill in gaps as they may exist in the process and business through a servant leadership style of management.

  • Monitoring workload distribution and labour specialisation to promote an environment of personal growth and learning that keeps our staff stimulated and excited about their work.

Product quality and maintenance

  • Do feature functional testing on stories as they are built to keep you in touch with the end result of the development process and help us drive product quality.

In general

  • Collaborate with the team to share in the accountability for getting features built and shipped.

  • Diagnose and unblock issues that are holding up delivery, slowing it down or causing defects.

  • Work with our head Sven, to continuously improve quality standards and service excellence.

  • Work with the Product Manager to ensure that business results are achieved by teams.

  • With with the Development Manager to ensure that our teams are properly geared to build.

  • Work with our Design Lead to ensure our development incorporates the best design approac

The Office.

Our HQ is in one of the oldest theatres in South Africa, right in the middle of the Cape Town City Bowl. Imagine if you smashed a temple of amazingness into a really comfortable lounge with great art on the walls. That still wouldn’t be as awesome as our offices. Needless to say, anyone who wants to work with us should be in Cape Town, or plan to be.
