22seven Sven (aka Customer Service Superhero)

The Svens are our customer superheroes. They use their superpowers to give people the kind of legendary customer service they’ve rarely (or never) received before, but will always remember.

As part of the Sven team at 22seven, you will:

  • Go above and beyond the call of duty to create world-class customer engagement experiences; the kind that are appreciated and held as examples of what is possible.

  • Be obsessed with the details and minutiae of customer service and support, and work tirelessly to make every single interaction count.

  • Be a 22seven customer yourself and know our product intimately.

  • Have some writing chops and be able to infuse customer replies with personality and authenticity. Our primary customer service channels are digital.

  • Work closely with colleagues and technical partners to resolve any gremlins quicker than you can say “it’s a bird, it’s a plane”.

  • Be the customer voice inside 22seven and work with the Product and Development teams to conceptualise, prioritise and implement regular feature requests from customers.

  • Contribute to quality control on our various apps through regular feedback, testing and follow-up.

  • Love (and know) technology and have an appreciation for how it can change things for the better.

  • Be willing and able to work rotational shifts. Our Svens are available from 8AM-8PM every day (including weekends). Don’t worry, there’s allowance for working from home outside of regular office hours.

Product Owner

As part of the team at 22seven you’ll be essential to growing, maintaining and developing our product. You’ll be key to continuous development and improvement of 22seven, and making sure it’s doing its job of helping customers manage their money better.

About you:

  • You have some product owner or business analysis experience in the financial or fintech sector.

  • You are ultra-organised and have an uncanny ability to create order from chaos.

  • You are passionate about personal finance and believe in its life-changing possibilities.

  • You are keen on working collaboratively with a cross-functional team, using Agile methodologies.

  • You enjoy juggling many different tasks and responsibilities.

Here are some of the things you’ll look after:


Product ownership and development

  • Monitor customer feedback and maintain a backlog of improvements and changes we should be making to improve customer experience.

  • Doing research and analysis on upcoming features to prepare them for build.

Product delivery

  • Communicate product concepts to the team.

  • Participate in prioritising the product and sprint backlogs.

  • Own and maintain the sprint backlog.

  • Collaborate with the team to generate user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Work with the team to ensure stories meet acceptance criteria, meet quality standards and are coherent across platforms.

Product quality and maintenance

  • Do feature testing on stories as they are built.

  • Be responsible for product quality overall and put a plan in place to ensure it’s embedded in our build and deployment process.

  • Monitor product quality metrics and ensure appropriate measures are taken to address problems.

In general

  • Collaborate with the team to get features built and shipped.

  • Work with our head Sven, to continuously improve quality standards.

  • Work with the Product Manager to ensure that short, medium and long term product plans are in the right state of readiness.

Senior Data Analyst

As part of the product team at 22seven, you’ll be a key part of driving our business effectiveness and managing our product. We like to operate according to the Lean Startup methodology and data is a critical component in building, measuring, learning and iterating. You’ll be a thought leader for improving existing and implementing new data solutions that enable us to use data to drive management decision making and help our customers manage their money better.

About you

  • You are experienced with data analysis in SQL, R and Python and using data visualisation tools.

  • You have some experience leading others and are highly collaborative by nature.

  • You are a critical thinker with a strong commitment to analytical rigour and data ethics.

  • You are proactive with a drive for understanding and finding solutions to complex problems.

  • You are passionate about personal finance and believe in its life-changing possibilities.

  • You are keen on working collaboratively with a cross-functional team, using Agile methodologies.

Here are some of the things you’ll look after:

  • Leading data team members in studies, tool selection and implementation, and work methods.

  • Ensuring a relentless focus on data quality and improving our data to serve business needs.

  • Performing reviews, finding solutions, drawing up plans and outlining a roadmap for our data team.

  • Coding, debugging, testing, documenting and supporting data oriented server based applications.

  • Evolving our data ecosystem and capabilities to leverage our data in new and powerful ways.

Team collaboration

  • Work with our Data Analysts, to ensure we are analysing the right things, reacting in the right ways and that our data team is working in an efficient manner.

  • Work with our Product Owners to ensure that we are informed about and reacting to customer behaviour and product performance.

  • Work with our Product Manager to develop solutions and plans that reveal how we can use data to improve our business and customer’s financial positions.

  • Work with our Core Developers and DevOps team to maintain our data infrastructure and ensure continuous data security, integrity and availability.

  • Work with our Front End Developers to integrate behaviour tracking into the service and all future releases so we know what is and what is not working for our customers.

  • Work with our Svens to continuously improve our measurement of support performance, customer experience and operational support process success.

  • Work with our Marketing team to understand the effectiveness of our campaigns and enable mass communications to our customers.

Tasks

  • Plan and execute studies to advance our business and customer understanding.

  • Design customer segmentations and analyses that lead to product management insights.

  • Produce new Nudges that create value for the business and our customers.

  • Develop business intelligence dashboards to inform us of our business performance.

  • Identify solutions that will allow us to share information with our partners and the public.

  • Support routine customer product interviews and feature testing sessions.

JavaScript Frontend Developer

As part of the development team at 22seven you’ll be part of growing, maintaining and scaling our web applications. This includes the webapp and our operational support app.

Our tech stack:

  • We’re migrating our AngularJS webapp over to ReactJS (with Redux) in ES2015.

  • Our Operational support app uses the MEAN stack.

The Office.

Our HQ is in one of the oldest theatres in South Africa, right in the middle of the Cape Town City Bowl. Imagine if you smashed a temple of amazingness into a really comfortable lounge with great art on the walls. That still wouldn’t be as awesome as our offices. Needless to say, anyone who wants to work with us should be in Cape Town, or plan to be.
